Job Title: Service Writer & Warranty Claims Coordinator

Location: Kearney, NE
Employment Type: Full-Time
Dealership Focus: Massey Ferguson, JCB, Krone

About the Role

We are a fast-paced, premier agricultural dealership in Kearney, NE, proud to support our local growers and operators with top-tier equipment from Massey Ferguson, JCB, and Krone.

We are looking for a rare breed: a Service Writer / Warranty Claims Coordinator who is a master of communication but a bulldog when it comes to recovering warranty dollars. This dual-role requires someone who can seamlessly bridge the gap between our customers, our technicians, and corporate manufacturers. You will be the face of our service counter, but behind the scenes, you will be our champion—ensuring every eligible dollar from AGCO, JCB, and Krone is paid out fully and fairly.

Key Responsibilities

Service Writing & Customer Relations

  • The Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers booking equipment for service. Translate “farmer descriptions” into clear, concise, and actionable work orders for our technicians.
  • Communication: Keep customers updated on the status of their repairs, provide accurate cost estimates, and explain completed work clearly upon pickup.
  • Shop Flow: Work closely with the Service Manager to help schedule jobs efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for our customers during peak seasons.

Warranty Claims Administration (The “Bulldog” Role)

  • Claim Submission: Prepare, document, and submit precise warranty claims to Massey Ferguson, JCB, and Krone in a timely manner.
  • Evidence Gathering: Partner with technicians to gather the necessary photos, failed parts, and diagnostic readouts required to build an bulletproof claim.
  • Claim Advocacy: Relentlessly track pending claims. When a manufacturer issues a denial or a short-pay, you will dig into the policy guidelines, find the leverage points, and appeal the decision to get our shop paid.
  • Core & Parts Tracking: Manage the return of failed warranty parts to the manufacturer, ensuring compliance with OEM storage and shipping regulations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Mechanical Knowledge: You must understand agricultural machinery. You need to know how tractors, hay equipment, and telehandlers operate so you can write accurate work orders and intelligently argue a denied warranty claim with corporate auditors.
  • Tenacious Work Ethic: You don’t take “no” for an answer from manufacturers. You are driven, detail-oriented, and take pride in keeping your unpaid warranty ledger as close to zero as possible.
  • Cultural Fit & Interpersonal Skills: While you are aggressive with corporate warranty departments, you are a team player at home. We have a low-drama, high-collaboration environment. You must be able to build strong, respectful relationships with our technicians, parts department, and local farmers.
  • Organizational Excellence: Warranty work is a game of deadlines and paperwork. You must be highly organized, comfortable with digital dealer portals, and capable of managing multiple claims simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a service writer or warranty administrator in an Ag, heavy truck, or construction equipment dealership.
  • Direct familiarity with AGCO (Massey Ferguson), JCB, or Krone dealer networks and warranty policies.
  • A background in agriculture or a deep understanding of the local farming community and its seasonal urgencies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary.
  • Growth & Stability: A stable, year-round position.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health (100% for Employee, 50% for family), 401k Matching, Paid Time Off, Holidays, Employee Stock Ownership Program.
  • Factory Training: Continuous training on OEM warranty submission software and product updates.

How to Apply

If you have the mechanical smarts to talk shop, the people skills to handle the counter, and the grit to fight for every warranty dollar, we want to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief description of your experience dealing with equipment warranties to aaron@kearneyequip.com or drop it off in person at our Kearney location.
